Une nouvelle cuvée a été créée en l'honneur du millésime 2022, si généreux avec la vigne, pour rendre enfin hommage au premier donateur du Domaine des Hospices de Nuits.
Issue d'une sélection rigoureuse des plus anciens pieds de vigne du domaine, les raisons sont cueillis par une équipe dédiée. Cette cuvée se goûte magnifiquement dès son plus jeune âge et promet un vin d'anthologie pour l'amateur patient. Le choix de la parcelle de Saint-Georges Vieilles Vignes s'est imposé naturellement pour rendre hommage au premier donateur. Des arômes riches, puissants, complexes, une longueur en bouche incroyable et merveilleuse, cette cuvée est une petite révolution dans la vente des vins des Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges.

Presentation and tasting

A new cuvée was launched to honor the 2022 vintage, very generous towards the vines, it pays tribute to the first donor of the Domaine des Hospices de Nuits.
The grapes were carefully selected from the oldest vines on the estate and picked by a dedicated team. This cuvée tastes beautifully from its earliest years and holds the promise of a masterpiece for the patient wine lover. Selecting the Saint-Georges Vieilles Vignes plot was an obvious choice to pay tribute to the first donor. It features rich, powerful, complex aromas with an amazing and delightful length on the palate. This cuvée is a small revolution in the Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges wine auction.

Ce cru produit des vins rouges habituellement fins, élégants et subtils : 2022 ne fait pas exception, avec une structure généreuse et un parfum enivrant, et une bouche riche et tannique. Vin à la robe intense et soutenue, à la large palette aromatique, c'est encore une fois une des grandes réussites de l'année.

Presentation and tasting

This cru produces red wines that are usually fine, elegant and subtle : 2022 is no exception, with a generous structure and a heady aroma, and a rich, tannic palate. It is once again one of the great successes of the year with an intense, deep colour and a wide range of aromas.

Sous les Prûliers et sous les Didiers, ces crus sudistes nous offrent un vin d'une grande intensité, un peu strict au départ, avec un beau potentiel de garde, d’une vraie complexité en bouche. Ce Nuits-Saint-Georges village est tannique, avec un équilibre quasi parfait et une structure bien construite. Il offre un vin d'une belle richesse qui nécessitera du temps pour se révéler complètement.

Presentation and tasting

Located south of the Prûliers and the Didiers, these southern crus provide us with a wine of great intensity, a little strict at the start, with a nice ageing potential, it has a true complexity on the palate. This Nuits-Saint-Georges village is tannic, with a near-perfect balance and a well-built structure. It delivers a nicely rich wine that will need time to fully reveal itself.

Le célèbre Monopole du Domaine des Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges est issu d’un sol brun calcaire, associé à des cailloutis d’oolite blanche. Il donne des vins profonds et denses, à la grande capacité de vieillissement. Bénéficiant des apports de la structure des vieilles vignes et la gourmandise des jeunes, ce vin se rapproche de l'équilibre parfait avec un nez intense, une bouche profonde, complexe, des saveurs magnifiques et persistantes. Un très grand vin.

Presentation and tasting

The famous ‘Monopole’ from the Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges estate results from brown limestone soil, combined with white oolite gravels. It produces deep and dense wines with a great ageing capacity. Enriched by the structure of the old wines and the delight of the young ones, this wine flirts with the perfect balance with an intense nose, a deep, complex palate, magnificient and lingering flavors. A very great wine.

Sur ce sol particulier, rocheux, caillouteux, drainant, composé de cailloux bathoniens variés, cette cuvée est issue de vignes d'âge moyen de 45 ans. Une puissance remarquable, toute de longueur et de complexité, il s'agit comme toujours d'un vin d'une grande profondeur, au nez déjà ouvert. Son potentiel de garde est toujours impressionnant, même s'il pourra être apprécié dès sa jeunesse, en particulier cette année où il s'épanouit déjà.

On this special soil, rocky, stony, draining, composed of various Bathonian pebbles, this cuvée is made from vines of an average age of 45 years. It features a remarkable power, full of length and complexity, it is, as always, a wine of great depth, with an already open nose. It keeps an impressive ageing potential, yet it can be appreciated from its youth, especially this year as its bouquet has already started to unfold.

Assemblage de deux parcelles qui se situent de part et d’autre du cœur de Nuits-Saint-Georges, il combine les atouts des deux parties du vignoble pour produire un vin représentatif de la cité. Comme d'habitude, il nous offre un vin puissant, en particulier cette année avec un nez encore un peu fermé mais une véritable explosion de fruits en bouche, avec une belle longueur, exceptionnelle même pour une cuvée "villages".

A blend of two plots on either side of the village of Nuits-Saint-Georges, it combines the strengths of both sides of the vineyard to produce a wine typical of the town. As usual, it produces a powerful wine, especially this year with a nose that is still a little closed but a real fruit burst on the palate, with a nice length, exceptional even for a "villages" vintage.

Au sein du Monopole du Domaine, la cuvée Cabet est issue de vignes de quarante ans d’âge, et conserve pourtant un caractère de vigne presque jeune, avec un vin gourmand qui offre une large palette aromatique. Flatteuse dès son jeune âge, cette cuvée possède un charme indéniable et une intensité remarquable. Une belle persistance en fin de bouche souligne sa profondeur et permet d'en espérer une belle évolution.

In the heart of the estate Monopole, the cuvée Cabet is made from forty-year-old vines, and yet it retains the character of a younger vine, with a tasty wine on the palate, displaying a wide aromatic range. Flattering from its young age, this cuvée has obvious charm and outstanding intensity. A nice lingering finish underlines its depth and allows us to hope for a nice evolution.

Seule exception à l’ensemble de vins de Nuits-Saint-Georges ici présentés, cette célèbre parcelle de Gevrey-Chambertin est souvent présentée à tort comme un premier cru, mais cette confusion s’explique par sa grande qualité. Elle est en effet située juste sous les Charmes. Comme l'ensemble des autres vins de l'année, il est très expressif avec un nez magnifique et envoûtant, un fruit intense et une persistance en bouche encore supérieure aux années précédentes.

The only exception to all the Nuits-Saint-Georges wines presented here, is this famous plot of Gevrey-Chambertin which is often mistakenly classified as a premier cru. This confusion can be explained because of its high quality. It is indeed located right south of les Charmes. Like all the other wines of the vintage, it is very expressive with a wonderful and captivating nose, an intense fruit and an even greater lingering finish than is previous vintages.

Ce cru prestigieux a donné son nom à la ville de Nuits, avant tout par son sol particulier, rocheux, caillouteux, drainant, composé de cailloux bathoniens variés (prémeaux, oolithe, comblanchien). La cuvée Georges Faiveley bénéficie d'une vigne d'âge moyen de 55 ans, peu sensible aux aléas climatiques, avec une structure tannique très présente, et nous propose un vin d'une grande élégance, avec un nez intense qui demandera encore quelques années, et une bouche puissante, riche de fruits noirs bien mûrs.

The pestigious cru gave its name to the town of Nuits. It is above all a singular soil, rocky, stony, draining, composed of various Bathonian pebbles (Pemeaux, Oolite, Comblanchien). The Georges Faiveley cuvée is made from vines with an average age of 55 years that are not very weather-sensitive, with a very noticeable tannic structure, and offers a wine of great elegance, featuring an intense nose that will require a few more years, and a powerful palate, with a wealth of ripe black fruits.

Ces deux parcelles situées au nord de l’appellation, proches de Vosne-Romanée, donnent un vin représentatif de cette partie de Nuits-Saint-Georges, d’un parfum délicat et précis, plus tannique cette année qu'habituellement. Sa structure lui permettra une belle évolution avec cette puissance et cette fraîcheur qui caractérisent le millésime.

Presentation and tasting

These two plots in the north of the appellation, near Vosne-Romanée, produce a wine which is typical of this part of Nuits-Saint-Georges, it is delicate and welldelineated aroma, more tannic this year than usual. Thanks to its structure, it will age well with the power and freshness that typify the vintage.
